On November 2, the Inter-American Dialogue’s Latin American Advisor published a commentary by Cefeidas Group Managing Director Juan Cruz Díaz. Díaz commented on the so-called Argentina’s ‘brain drain’ phenomenon and the dynamics behind this alleged trend.
“There is no consistent data to support the claim that Argentines are emigrating en masse, causing a brain drain […] The human capital challenge stems not from emigration but mostly from the education system, which is struggling to keep up with the current demands of the economy. […] Still, in today’s interconnected world, Argentines developing themselves abroad does not necessarily spell disaster for the country…”
