Cefeidas Group Managing Director speaks on Corporate Governance Development Framework

On November 25, Cefeidas Group Managing Director Juan Cruz Díaz spoke to participants of the EXC breakfast session, “Excellence in Corporate Governance” on ways to evaluate and improve corporate governance practices, as recommended by the International Finance Corporation (IFC). The EXC is a network for competitive excellence, endorsed by the Business Foundation for Quality and Excellence (FUNDECE), the National Professional Institute for Quality and Excellence (IPACE) and the Foundation for the National Quality Award.

In his capacity as advisor for the IFC’s Corporate Governance Program for Latin America and the Caribbean, Mr. Díaz provided an overview of the Corporate Governance Development Framework, a protocol signed and adopted by over 30 Development Finance Institutions to aid in the investment process. Mr Díaz also discussed the IFC methodology for assessing corporate governance within companies.

The breakfast session brought together a number of experts in a panel discussion focused on topics pertinent to corporate governance including: the current situation nationally and internationally, the role of the regulator and the best management practices.

Also participating in the panel were Raúl Angel Rodríguez, head of the Community for Quality Management in the Governance of Organizations (CGGO Community) and Marcos Ayerra, President of the National Securities Commission (CNV).

Speakers, including Marcos Bertín from the International Academy for Quality, Andrea Grobocopatel, President of the Foundation for Responsible Leaders and Organizations (Fundacíon FLOR), Juan Javier Negri, Director of the National Art Foundation and Santiago Murtagh, President of EXC, also gave insights into managing diversity, improving organizational practices and the role of an organization’s head.
