OECD 2016 Latin American Roundtable on Corporate Governance

Roundtable on Corporate Governance

Those interested in following discussions at the OECD Latin American Roundtable on Corporate Governance, held in Costa Rica on September 8 and 9 are invited to attend via webcast.

The annual event will focus on how to strengthen equity markets through improved corporate governance policies and practices. Over the two days participants will discuss:

  • the importance of corporate governance codes and the process for improvement;
  • the transparency and corporate governance of company groups;
  • corporate governance and business integrity (the role of the board, cybersecurity and anti-corruption); and
  • SOE reform.

Cefeidas Group’s Managing Director Santiago Chaher is an introductory speaker and will moderate two sessions.

After he has presented the results of a recent Roundtable synthesis report that reviews corporate governance practices in Latin American, he will moderate a panel discussion on the report. Attendees will gain insights into the experiences of experts from Colombia, Chile, Peru and Costa Rica.

He will then facilitate a second session on how to promote corporate governance codes across the region. With a focus on market-based solutions, the panel discussion will draw on the experiences of experts from Brazil, Mexico, Ecuador and Italy.

The webcast will be held on Thursday September 8 from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm Costa Rica Time (CST, -8 hours Paris time). Discussions will recommence on Friday September 9 at 9:30 am finishing at 1:00 pm CST.
