Cefeidas Managing Director, Santiago Chaher has authored a recent report published by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) titled, Board Practices and Financing for Latin American State-Owned Enterprises.
Available in both Spanish and English, the report reviews current arrangements and trends in board practices and financing of state-owned enterprises (SOEs) in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay.
First introduced as a working paper at the 4th OECD Latin American Network on Corporate Governance in Santiago, Chile in June 2015, the report had since been informed by interviews and questionnaires about SOE board nomination, size and composition, evaluation, training, induction and use of committees. Participants from the ten countries were also questioned on SOE approaches to financing and budgeting.
The report was coordinated by Senior Policy Analyst of the Corporate Affairs Division at the OECD, Daniel Blume.
